Issue:

To ensure a smooth surface finish, the customer requires multi-pass machining when the Stepover is zero. But in the Profilecut operation, setting the Stepover to zero triggers a "Step value outside of allowed range" error. How can we set the multi-pass with a stepover of zero?

Solution:

  1. Retain the default settings for both Cutting Steps and Number of Cuts.
  2. Use Path Settings instead: set Side Finish Type to Only Side Finish, set Side Finish Number to the desired number of passes (e.g., 3). Side Finish Distance can then be set to zero.
  3. The toolpath will run 3 times when using Toolpath Verify.
  4. Post-process as usual: the same toolpath will be output the specified number of times.
