How to customize the Excel template when exporting a 3D BOM to Excel?

Solution:

  1. Click 3D BOM under the Assembly tab, switch to the Settings tab, and check the option Export/Print with Template,
  2. Click the Browser button and select one of the. txt files, right-click, and choose Open source folder.
  3. Open one of the .txt files with Notepad, for example, ExportConfiguration.txt.
  4. Locate TEMPLATE  – this field specifies the name of the referenced Excel template file.
  5. Open the .xlsx template and the.txt file at the same time.
  6. Write the property values into the cells. The properties are the Standard properties of ZW3D, and they can be added to the .xlsx and the .txt files.

  7. Write the attribute names into the cells; these attributes are from each component.
  8. Set the starting row for data entry (1, 2, 3, …). For example, in the figure below, the start row is Row 6.
  9. Set the column mapping for specific properties (if no columns are specified, all data from the 3D BOM will be exported).
