Issue:

After setting the Smart Mouse gestures, click Save button, ZWCAD can not save and exit the window.

Causes:

This is usually caused by insufficient user permissions, as the operation above requires generating or modifying the MouseGesture.xml file in the user folder. Take ZWCAD 2026 as an example.


Solution:

  1. Click the Start icon, then type in Registry Editor in the Windows search bar, then click Registry Editor to open it.

  2. In the Registry Editor, under the path Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ZWSOFT\ZWCAD\2026\en-US,  check if the item shown in the screenshot is missing.


  3. If the item in step 2 is missing, use the following steps to add it manually.
    3.1 Under the same path, right-click on the blank space of Registry Editor, then click New→String Value.

    3.2 Right-click on the new item, and Rename the item to be RoamableRootFolder.

    3.3 Right-click on the new item (RoamableRootFolder) then click Modify, input C:\Users\zwsoft\AppData\Roaming\ZWSOFT\ZWCAD\2026\en-US\ to the Value data then click OK.
  4. After the modification of Registry. Right-click on ZWCAD 2026 application, then click Properties to open ZWCAD 2026 Properties. Click Advanced under Shortcut tab to open Advanced Properties window.
    Tick Run as administrator then click OK to make sure the user has the full permission.
