Issue:

When inserting an external reference, a prompt occasionally appears stating that the external reference backup size is exceeded, and new references cannot be added.

Causes:

Opening an excessive number of external reference files causes the backup storage to exceed its predefined capacity.
It is necessary to either adjust the capacity or delete redundant reference files to restore functionality.

Solution:

• Method 1: Execute the XFCMPBAKSIZE command in the command line and reset a larger value.
  The default value is 500 MB, with an adjustable range of 200 to 32,000 MB.
  

• Method 2: Enter the XFCMPBAKPATH command to display the storage path of the reference files.
  Navigate to the indicated folder and manually delete obsolete temporary files.
