Issue:

Tips for using the Shift key in ZWCAD.

Solution:

The Shift key has multiple uses in ZWCAD. Below are common tips.

  1. Deselecting Objects from a Selection Set.
After selecting objects using a box or multiple selections, if we need to deselect specific objects, hold down the Shift key and select the objects again. This will remove them from the selection set.
  2. Adding Objects to a Selection Set.
When the option Use Shift to add to selection is enabled in CAD settings, clicking will only select one object at a time. To select multiple objects, hold down the Shift key while making your selections.
  3. Switching Between Trim and Extend
Trim and extend are two opposite functions, and holding down the Shift key to select a graphic when using one of these two functions will have the opposite effect.
  4.  Shift+Right-click Snap menu
Pressing Shift + Right-click brings up the snap menu. This can be used during the drawing process so that we can accurately snap the required point.

  5. Shift + Middle Button for 3D View.
Holding Shift + Middle Button and dragging the mouse allows you to switch to a 3D perspective.
  6. Selecting Multiple Grips.
After selecting objects, if you need to edit multiple grips simultaneously, press the Shift key to select multiple grips.

  7. Temporarily Switching Ortho Mode.
The Shift key can temporarily switch Ortho mode on or off during drawing, which is more convenient than using F8 in some situations.
