Issue:
What is the CAD Standards function used for, and how should it be used?
Solution:
CAD Standards is a function used when drawings have standard drafting requirements.
It compares the drawing with standard requirements and converts non-matching elements into standard styles. The Layer Translator compares the layers in the current drawing with those in a standard DWG file, converting the layers to standard styles.
- The Configure and Check functions are essentially similar. They compare the current drawing with a DWS standard file and can evaluate Layers, Multileader styles,Text styles, Dimension styles, and Linetypes.
For any differences identified, the corresponding styles can be selected and repaired to modify the current drawing's styles to comply with the standard. - A DWS file can be created by selecting Save As in a standard drawing and choosing the DWS file type in the file format options.
