How to view unused layers in a drawing?

Solution:

Method 1:

  1. Set the system variable SHOWLAYERUSAGE to 1. This controls the display of layer usage status in the Layer Properties Manager.

  2. In the Layer Properties Manager, check the Status column. Unused layers will be indicated by a gray icon.

Method 2:

  1. Open the Purge dialog by selecting File → Drawing Utilities → Purge from the menu (or use the PURGE command).

  2. Choose View items you can purge in the dialog. All unused layers will be listed.
