Issue:

ZWCAD 2024 and above versions support the Hardware acceleration function, but when I open the Graphics Hardware Settings dialog box, I find it is gray and cannot be started. How to deal with this problem?

Causes:

ZWCAD Hardware acceleration function can be used with any graphics card that supports OpenGL 4.2, except for two Intel graphics cards - Intel UHD Graphics 730 and Intel UHD Graphics.

When opening the Graphics Hardware Settings dialog box, the Hardware acceleration setting is gray and cannot be turned on. Generally, the integrated graphics card does not support OpenGL 4.2 and needs to set the independent graphics card control panel.

Solution:

Solution one:

  1. Right-click on the desktop and click Display Settings.
  2. In the Display settings, click the Graphics Settings.
  3. Click Browse and add ZWCAD.exe and ZwDrShaderCompiler.exe in the software installation directory.
  4. Open the software again to turn on the Hardware acceleration function.

Solution two:

  1. Right-click a blank area of the desktop to open the NVIDIA Control Panel dialog box.
  2. Click Manage 3D settings on the left.
  3. Select the Program Settings interface, in Select a program to customize, click Add.
  4. In the Add dialog box, select the ZWCAD.exe icon.
  5. Click Add selected program.
  6. Under Select the preferred graphics processor for this program, select High-performance NVIDIA processor.
  7. Click Apply in the lower right corner.
  8. Restart ZWCAD to use the Hardware acceleration function.

Solution three:

  1. Right-click on the desktop and click Display settings.

  2. In the Display settings, click the Graphics Settings.
  3. Click Browse and add ZWCAD.exe in the software installation directory.

  4. Select the added ZWCAD icon, click Options, select High performance in Graphics Preference, and click Save.

  5. Open the software again to turn on the Hardware acceleration function.
