Issue:

In ZWCAD, when you double-click a external reference to Edit Reference In-Place, an error dialog box prompts "XRef cannot be checked out for editing: *:\...*.dwg drawing A file lock already exists on the drawing". How can I set it to use the Edit Reference In-Place function?

 

Causes:

The ZWCAD reference file is in Read-only state.

Solution:

  1. Check whether the External Reference file is in the open state. If it is open, please close the file.
  2. Right-click the External reference file and select Properties, uncheck the Read-only attribute of the file, then click Apply and OK.
  3. Double-click the External Reference in the drawing again to Edit Reference In-Place.
