Issue:
How to make the plan view orthogonal to the drawing direction, without rotating or changing the coordinations of the objects?
Solution:
- Execute the UCS command, and specify 3 points on the drawing to define the new UCS.
- Execute the PLAN command, choose Current UCS, and the plan view will fit to the current coordination system.
Note:
- PLAN command displays the plan view orthogonal to the XY plane of the specified User Coordinate System (UCS). The drawing objects' relative position to the World Coordination System(WCS) remains unchanged.
In other words, the PLAN command only changes the view, it doesn't move the drawing objects. - Using the PLAN command within one viewport doesn't change the views in other viewports.
- If you need to restore the drafting view, execute the UCS command, input W to switch to the World Coordination System, and then do the PLAN command in the same way as the last procedure.
The plan view will then fit into the World Coordination System, which is the default status.
