Issue:

The "DWF6 ePlot.pc5" virtual printer that comes with ZWCAD has a default resolution of 400x400. When it prints large drawings for architecture or landscape architecture, some hatches, text or lines are not clear when enlarged. The lines are jagged and the arcs are not smooth. Take the outline of the pattern shown below as an example.

How to increase the resolution of printed DWF files?

Solution:

  1. Open Plotter Manager (shortcut command: PLOTTERMANAGER) from File on the menu.

  2. Open DWF6 ePlot.pc5 with Notepad.
  3. Find resolution_x=400 and resolution_y=400, change the numbers to your desired resolution. For example, change to x=1400 and y=1400 means that the resolution will be 1400x1400. The larger the number is, the better the resolution will be and the larger file size will be exported.
  4. After changing the numbers for the resolution and saving the file, reopen plot to select DWF6 ePlot.pc5, from the Properties we can see that resolution 1400x1400 is already effective.
  5. Plot the drawing as DWF. After resetting the resolution, the new plotted pattern has a better display compared to the previous one.
