Issue:

After installing ZW3D, when launching it, an error report pops up saying ZW3D.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. While I can see the ribbon tab when creating a new file, the drawing area remains either blank or black, and I'm unable to perform any modeling operations.

Causes:

Graphics card driver issues are causing the ZW3D to malfunction, typically occurring on computers running Windows 7.

Solution:

  1. Check the Display adaptors in Device Manager, disable the integrated graphics card, and then verify whether the monitor is connected to the HDMI port of the discrete graphics card.
  2. Check if you have .NET Framework 4.0 or higher installed; if not, install it. If you already have .NET 4.0, then uninstall and reinstall it.
  3. Confirm your discrete graphics card model, then visit the official websites of NVIDIA or AMD to download the corresponding drivers and install them. You could also use third-party driver software to download graphics card drivers.
    NVIDIA driver website:
https://www.nvidia.cn/geforce/drivers/; AMD graphics card driver website: https://www.amd.com/zh-hans/support.
  4. After installation is complete, right-click and restart the ZW3D software as administrator.
