Issue:

When using ZW3D, if you need to use it outside the local network where the license server is located, how can you borrow a license?

And after using it, how do you manually return the license?

Solution:

License Borrowing Procedure:

  1. Make sure that you have already got a floating license.
  2. Locate the ZW3D folder in the Start menu and open the License Manager program. Alternatively, from the software interface, go to License Manager. The interface will appear as shown below. Under Floating License, click on Borrow.
  3. In the pop-up dialog box, enter the  Activation ID, choose Borrow Limited/Time, and click the Borrow button at the bottom.
  4. After successfully borrowing the license, the License Manager interface will display as shown.

Borrowed license return procedure:

  1. Open the License Manager program. Alternatively, from the software interface, go to Help and find License Configuration. Under the Standalone License section, locate the borrowed license information and click Return.
  2. After verifying the information in the pop-up window, click the Return button at the bottom right.
  3. Upon successful return, you'll receive the following prompt message.

Note:
Make sure that your floating license has 2 or more seats. When the network license node count is 1, you cannot open the software during the license borrowing operation.

Instead, you can open the License Manager from the Start menu separately. Otherwise, if ZW3D is opened and occupies the sole available node, the borrowing process will fail.
