Issue:

Installing ZW3D 2022 on the cloud desktop, everything works fine, normal to start it, but trying to start ZW3D 2023 after installation doesn't work.

This happens because the 2023 or above versions need to access the Documents folder to set up a required configuration file for its Piping module.

If it can't access that folder, the program just closes. To fix this, you can follow these steps:

Solution:

  1. Press the "Win+R" keys on your keyboard at the same time. Then, type in "regedit" in the window that pops up.
  2. Step by step, locate the following registry paths: "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" and "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders". Within these paths, sequentially find both the "Shell Folders" and "User Shell Folders"
  3. Separately modify the personal entries within the Shell Folders and User Shell Folders to the local file paths of the Documents folder.

  4. After making the changes, you'll need to clean up the user directory and then restart the software.
