★Why does the dimension run away after copying or moving graphics?

Issue:

When copying graphics and dimensions from one drawing to another, the dimension line is shifted, and the value of the dimension text changes.

Causes:

This situation may occur in some drawings with problems. In this kind of drawing, we need to disassociate dimensions from the objects to prevent the dimensions from shifting.

Solution:

Option I: For existing dimensions. We need to disassociate the dimension from objects.

1. Input DIMDISASSOCIATE in the command line of the original drawing.
2. Command line prompt:
   Select dimensions to disassociate... 
   Select objects: 
   
3. Select the objects and dimensions to disassociate.

Option II: For new dimensions of this drawing, we need to adjust the Options settings to directly create non-associated dimensions.

1. Click Menu→Options (Options command) to open Options.
2. Switch to the User Preferences tab and uncheck Make new dimensions associative.
   
   This setting is only available in the current drawing. For the new drawing, we need to do the same configuration.
