Issue:
Sometimes when the drawings are sent directly to others, due to the missing fonts are not installed on others' computers, the texts in the drawings are displayed as garbled characters or question marks. How to avoid the garbled characters?
Causes:
When the computer that opens the drawing lacks the fonts used in the drawing, the text will not be displayed or garbled.
Solution:
Use the ETRANSMIT command to pack the drawings before sending them out. You can pack multiple drawings along with the required fonts used in the drawings in a single package with ETRANSMIT, then send this package which has all the needed fonts to read the drawings for others so that the text can be displayed normally on others' computers.
- Find Etransmit in File menu, or input the command ETRANSMIT to open Create Transmittal.
- Follow the below steps to check Include fonts to pack all necessary fonts in the package with etransmit.
- After finishing settings and clicking OK to pack, the zip file generated by ETRANSMIT includes all drawing files as well as the required fonts in the package. When others get the drawing, they can install the TTF fonts by double-clicking it and clicking Install. For CAD fonts SHX file, just copy them to the ZWCAD fonts folder under the installation directory, then ZWCAD will automatically find the required fonts and display all the texts normally.
