Issue:

  1. How to draw objects on axonometric view?
  2. How to add dimension for object in axonometric view?

Solution:

  1. First, input DSETTING in the command line and press enter to open the Drafting Settings dialog box. In the Drafting Settings dialog box, select the Polar Tracking tab and check the Polar Tracking On option.
  2. Select 30 degrees from the dropdown menu of the Polar Angle Settings → Increment Angle. Then, in the Snap and Grid → snap type tab, choose Isometric Snap.

  3. Start drawing the axonometric object. Press F5 key or CTRL + E shortcut key to select different isometric planes.

  4. Then set the text style. Click the menu Format→Text Style (STYLE command) to open the Text Style Manager dialog box, and create new text styles Incline 30 Degrees and Incline -30 Degrees.
  5. Set the Oblique angle to 30 for text with the Incline 30 degrees style, and set the Oblique angle to -30 for text with the Incline -30 degrees style.

  6. Next, set the dimension styles. Click on the menu Format→dimension Style (DIMSTYLE command), then press Enter to open the Dimension Style Manager dialog box. Create new dimension styles named Incline 30 Degrees and Incline -30 Degrees.

  7. Modify the dimension style of Incline 30 degrees, and select the Incline 30 degrees text style under the Text Appearance option in the Text tab.

  8. Modify the dimension style of Incline -30 degrees, and select the Incline -30 degrees text style under the Text Appearance option in the Text tab.
  9. Start adding dimensions. Set the Incline 30 degrees style to the current dimension style, input DIMALIGNED in the command line, and then Press Enter to create aligned dimension.

  10. Input DIMEDIT in the command line and press Enter.

  11. When the command line shows:
Enter type of dimension editing [Home/New/Rotate/Oblique] <Home>:  input o, then press Enter,
Select linear dimensions to make oblique: select the dimension object and press Enter,
Enter an obliquing angle: Input 90 and press Enter.

The inclination angle increments from the X-axis of UCS.

  12. Set the dimension style of Inclined -30 degrees to the current dimension style, and create the other dimensions in the same way.
