Issue:

ZWCAD network license may have insufficient license nodes (Users > Purchased license nodes). In this scenario, if a user obtains a floating license and leaves ZWCAD unused for a long time, it will be a waste of license resources.
How to set up a mechanism to automatically withdraw floating nodes that have not been used for a long time?

Solution:

  1. Find the NLM service package installation directory. Default directory "C:\Program Files\ZWSOFT\ZWSOFT Network License Manager".
  2. Open zwflex.opt with Notepad.
  3. Add timing setting syntax at the end of the text, such as: "TIMEOUTALL 1800", save and close. (This setting applies to all network licenses of ZWSOFT. If the client does not perform any operations in the software within 1800 seconds, the license node will be retrieved).
  4. Open the Network License Configuration program [lmtools.exe], stop and start the ZWSOFT license service, and the settings will take effect immediately.

Note:

TIMEOUTALL syntax applies to all ZWSOFT network licenses, and TIMEOUT syntax applies to ZWSOFT single software module licenses. For example, “TIMEOUT ZW2D_PRO 900” applies to ZWCAD Professional Edition, if it is not used for 900 seconds, the server will automatically retrieve the floating license of ZWCAD professional. the minimum value of TIMEOUT and TIMEOUTALL is 900 seconds (15 mins).
