DWG files show no preview in File Explore's preview window on the right. How to deal with this issue?

Causes:

The issue is typically caused by incorrect or missing registry entries associated with the file preview handler.

Solution:

  1. Press Win+R to open the Run dialog. Insert regedit and press Enter to open Registry Editor.
  2. Go to the following registry keys:
    • Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.dwg\shellex\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}
    • Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.dwg\shellex\{8895b1c6-b41f-4c1c-a562-0d564250836f}
  3. Set the (Default) value of both keys to {EC92328C-5A21-11E7-B72E-BC5FF42AC839}.
