Issue:

Why can't the outer radius be machined when machining grooves on the end face, and how can this be solved?


Causes:

Because the outer radius is the largest area in this case, the end face machining system doesn't recognize it as part of the groove, so it's not machined there.

Solution:

  1. In ZW3D CAD, go to Wireframe→Planar Section, and then use One Touch Trim or other functions to delete the redundant contour.
  2. Then add a contour that extends beyond the outer radius.
  3. Back to ZW3D CAM, select the profile feature (it must include the extended contour), select an appropriate tool, calculate, obtain the toolpath as shown below, and verify the solid to machine the outer radius.
