Issue:
After selecting Replace Z value with current elevation through the Options dialog box, closing ZWCAD and reopening the file, finding that the setting hasn't been saved and remains unselected.
How to keep Replace Z value with current elevation selected by default?
Causes:
The default value for OSNAPZ is 0 (zero), and this setting is not a saved variable in ZWCAD drawings. So the option to Replace the Z value with the current elevation is deselected in the Options dialog box when reopening the drawings.
Solution:
Add a statement to the ZWCAD20XXdoc.lsp file to modify the default value of the OSNAPZ variable when the software starts.
- Right-click the software icon to open the file location.
- Go to the directory ZWSOFT\ZWCAD 2026\Support\en-US, find the ZWCAD20XXdoc.lsp file, and open it with Notepad.
- Add the statement (setvar "OSNAPZ" 1) at the end of the text, and save the file.
