★Why does ZWCAD block creation fail with "The block name is being used by an external reference..."

Issue:

When creating a block, the system prompts: "This block name is using by an external reference. Please give another name for it."
What is the cause of this issue and how can it be resolved?

Causes:

An external reference has already been inserted into the current drawing file.
The file name of this inserted external reference is identical to the name you are attempting to assign to the new block, causing a naming conflict that prevents the block from being created.

Solution:

• When creating the block, simply change the intended block name to ensure it differs from the name of the external reference.

• If the block name cannot be changed due to specific requirements, consider renaming the external reference drawing file or detaching (removing) the external reference.
