Issue:

Inserting raster images or underlays in a drawing generates .zwimg cache files that occupy space on the C drive.
For large files like satellite imagery, how can the cache location be changed to free up space?

Cause:

Cache files are generated to speed up the opening of drawings in subsequent sessions.
While this feature cannot be disabled (though files can be manually deleted), the storage path can be modified to save space on the system drive.

Solution:

  1. Click the menu Tools → Options (or execute the OP command) to open the Options dialog box.
  2. Navigate to the Files tab, locate RasterImage Cache Path, and click Browse....
  3. Select the new folder for storing cache files, then click Apply and OK to confirm.
