Issue:

Sometimes in a complicated drawing, the spaces of the dimension lines are too narrow that the dimension texts can't fit in with the space properly, or overlap with each other, making the drawing appear messy.

How to display these dimensions' texts in blank areas, with leaders pointing to the corresponding dimension line?

Solution:

In the Dimension Style Manager, users can configure the text placement way.

  1. Execute DIMSTYLE command, or from classic menu or ribbon to open Dimension Style Manager.

  2. Select the dimension style you need to alter and click Modify, go to the Fit tab, and tick the Over the dimension line, with leader option in the Text Placement section. In the end, click OK to save the settings.

In this way, when creating new dimensions of this style, ZWCAD will place the texts in blank areas when the texts can't fit in with spaces of the dimension lines, with a leader pointing to the corresponding dimension line.
  3. You can also select individual dimensions you want to change, Ctrl + 1 to open the Properties panel, browse to the Fit options and change the Text movement value to "Move text, add leader".
